Strategic Inclusion Leadership Programme for Charities

A funded professional development and qualification pathway for charity professionals.

Applications open February 2026

What is the Programme?

Strategic Inclusion Leadership Programme for Charities is a funded development opportunity designed to build practical, strategic inclusion capability within the charity and community sector.

It combines:

  • a CPD-accredited, face-to-face course
  • a structured route to a CMI Level 7 qualification
  • ongoing support, mentoring and resources over 12 months

The programme recognises that inclusion is no longer the responsibility of a single specialist role. It is increasingly part of everyday leadership, governance and decision-making, particularly within charities operating under financial and capacity pressures.

This programme equips charity professionals with the confidence, tools and recognised qualification to lead inclusion in a way that is sustainable and embedded in how organisations work.

What Does the Programme Include?

Participants take part in a complete development and qualification pathway, including:

  • A CPD-accredited 3-day course: Strategic Approaches to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion workshop delivered in person.
  • Registration with the Chartered Management Institute (CMI)
  • Completion of the CMI Level 7 Award in Strategic Approaches to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
  • 12 months of structured support, including mentoring and study guidance
  • Access to Archangelica and CMI  learning resources
A peer learning cohort and alumni network

This is not a standalone training course. All participants commit to completing the qualification as part of the programme.

Who is it For?

The programme is designed for people working or volunteering in charities or community organisations who:

  • have responsibility for people, culture, services, governance or organisational change
  •  want to strengthen their strategic inclusion capability
  • are ready to commit to a professional qualification
  • want learning that applies directly to their organisation and communities they serve

You do not need to hold a formal equality, diversity and inclusion role to apply.

How is the Programme Funded?

Places on the programme are made available through corporate sponsorship.

This funding model allows charity professionals to access high-quality development and a recognised qualification that would otherwise be difficult to fund.

Each cohort includes:

  • funded places for charity professionals
  • additional places supported directly by Archangelica

All places are awarded through an application process.
